Mercedes Gonzales, 66, of San Angelo, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his residence. Mercedes was born on February 25, 1951 to Mercedes and Estefania (Davila) Soto in San Angelo. He worked as a paint & body repairman for A&D Paint and Body Shop for many years. Some of Mercedes hobbies were music, dancing, playing dominos and especially playing with their dog, Tootsie. He was a very hard working man and a devoted Christian. Mercedes is survived by his loving spouse of 11 years; Mary Rose, son, Carlos Gonzales of Austin, daughters, Grace R. Pena, Rosemary R. Rojas, mother, Estefania Soto, brother, Juan Soto, Jr. all of San Angelo, 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his father, Mercedes Gonzales, Sr. along with a brother and sister. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Bruno Aguilar, officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his very close friends; Abraham & Idalia Davila and family, a very special friend, Junior Davila and Bud Edmonson with yellow cab. They would also like to thank Kindred Hospice and team but especially nurse, Cathy Osborne for all the loving care and support shown to Mercedes during his illness.
