Oscar Sanchez, Jr. 44, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, in Reagan Co. Services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Big Lake an Elder of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo. Mr. Sanchez was born August 12, 1973 in Eagle Pass. He has been a resident of Big Lake for 23 years. Oscar married Laura Zapata on February 4, 1994 in Big Lake. He was dedicated to his occupation for Mariner Energy Corporation later becoming Apache Corporation for 15 years. He started out as a pumper and then worked his way up to be a production foreman. He was part owner of Sugar Creek Grill in Big Lake. Oscar attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints in Big Lake. He was the Vice President of Reagan County Sports Booster Club for the past three years. Oscar was a dedicated little league coach for many years. His players still remember his quote, "Do More." Words cannot describe the love he had for his family. Survivors include his wife, Laura of Big Lake; two sons, Cristian Sanchez and Jaden Sanchez both of Big Lake, two daughters, Haley Sanchez of San Angelo and Marlee Sanchez of Big Lake; parents, Oscar, Sr. and Maria Sanchez of Eldorado; maternal grandmother, Manuela Zuñiga of Piedra Negra, Coahuila, Mexico; three brothers, Aaron Sanchez of Burleson, Jesus Sanchez and wife Liz of Burleson and Ishmael Sanchez of Austin. His big bear hugs will be missed by his nieces and nephews: Celeste Sanchez, Eliana Sanchez, Emli Sanchez, Claire Sanchez, Noah Olvera, Aydan Olvera, Olivia Olvera, Adrian Rios, and Madison Rios. His in-laws Guillermo and Maria Zapata loved him like a son. Special Notice: Oscar will be available for viewing from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 and the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hope in Christ Cowboy Church in Big Lake.
