“Take time to smell the roses”

On June 16, 2012 our rose, Beatrice, passed through the roses garden gates at the age of 91. A resident of San Angelo since 1977, she was under Hospice care at Regency House Care Center. Bea, as she was known to her many friends, was born December 11, 1920 to Peter and Rosalie Lineberger in Marienthal, Kansas.

She was a nurse’s aide for many years and was employed at San Angelo Community Hospital from the late 1970’s to the early 1980’s. She then retired to spend time with her husband, Norbert. She was a busy “flower”, cooking, gardening, crocheting, and mowing her own lawn.

After Norbert passed away, she became an active member at the Senior Care Station 618. As coordinator of the ceramic room, she was voted Volunteer of the Decade 1990-2000. She was voted Volunteer of the year several times, always glad to help anyone in need. Bea was indeed our flowering bright red rose.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norbert; her parents; two brothers, Joe and Vincent; and three sons, Leroy, Garry and Donald.

Bea is survived by her sons Kenneth and wife Pat, James and wife Diane; daughters Evelyn and Rita and daughters-in-law Violet and Carole; brothers Nick and wife Elizabeth, Bernie and wife Verna; sister Vita and husband Elmer. She had 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Our rose was a beautiful special flower. Full of life- she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. We loved her very much and she is our prized rose. She will be missed.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.
