Mablean (Pullen) Ford was born September 1, 1932, in Waelder, TX. She was the youngest of 17 children. Her family moved to San Angelo when she was 2 yrs old. It took two months by covered wagon. She was educated through high school at Blackshear. During her high school years, she played softball being 3rd baseman and short stop. She was a member of the Pep Squad. Family visitation will be held 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Rose, officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. She was baptized at an early age and was a faithful member of New Light Baptist Church under leadership of Rev. A. B. Lee (dec) until uniting with Freewill Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. Lee, until his retirement, then under Rev. William McClendon, Sr. Freewill's name was changed to Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church where she remained faithful, served as President of the Missionary Board, Vice-president of the Usher Board. She was President of Residence Council at Regency House Senior Care. She loved listening to Minister Shirley Caesar, enjoyed painting, an avid reader enjoying Christian books written by Pat G'Orge-Walker, and especially bingo. She met Alamo Ford in the 5th grade and remained close until united in marriage July 2, 1949. They were married for 69yrs and have always loved each other until the Lord called her home on October 18, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents; Buster and Ella Pullen, twins: Ruth and Isaiah Ford, great-grandson; Donald E. Rose, Jr. and 15 siblings. She leaves to mourn her passing; husband Alamo Ford II, of California; sister, Mary Crumpler, of Virginia; 10 children; Mabel (Luther, dec) Kelley, San Angelo, Sherry (Willie, dec) Parker, Dallas, Glenn (Margie) Ford, Alamo (Ollie) Ford, all San Angelo, Larnita (Ivan) Cole, Lubbock, Garvin (Clara) Ford, Phoenix, Myra Nunn, Irving, Mary (Eddie, dec) Williams, Killeen, Elenor (Ron) Simmons, Irving, Gwendolyn (David) Garcia, San Angelo; 26 grandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; a vast group of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends. She leaves a very special great nephew, Edward Johnson, and special protectors Radar and Luna (puppies). Special acknowledgements to Dr. Cornelius Chinn (her doctor), Maxine, Mellissa, Lakita, Kayla, Victoria, Angie, Mary, Daisy and especially Brandy, Activities Director, all from Regency House Senior Care. Very special thanks to Gretel of Kindred Hospice and her best friend, Norma of Regency House. Thank you all that loved and cared for our mom. There were so many of you that stopped by to spend time with her, hide out in her room to listen as she told you of memories of her life. Thanks to Robert Massie Funeral Home, who took such beautiful care of mom. A very special thanks to Rev.
