Barbara Gale Scranton, 75, gained her angel wings Saturday, February 25, 2024, in San Angelo.

Barbara was born December 12, 1948 in Atascadero, California to Robert "Bob" and Magdalen "Mickey" Fischer Harris. Barbara was the second of six children.

Barbara married her high school sweetheart Omer Lee Binion, JR. "Junior" the year she graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1967. Junior was in the Air Force and they lived many places in Texas. After Junior was out of the service he was a jet mechanic and that job took them many places including Arizona, Connecticut and New Jersey. Barbara and Junior finally settled back in San Angelo.

Barbara and Junior were the proud Parents of two sons, Brandall Binion and Brian Binion. Her boys were her pride and joy.

Barbara married Patrick Scranton in 1988 in San Angelo and acquired a new son in this marriage, Patrick Lange. Barbara and Pat retired in Winters until Pat's death and then Barbara moved back to San Angelo.

Barbara was a talented artist who loved to paint and sew. She painted gourds for many years and sold them at craft shows around Texas. She also painted portraits for her pleasure as well as painting them for Wallace Photo Lab. She worked at Ethicon and worked at several restaurants as a book keeper and Manager for many of them.

Barbara bowled for many years on a team with her Mother and sisters and loved traveling to the State Tournaments together. She also played softball on a team made up of sisters, nieces and cousins with little brother as Coach. Barbara loved music and loved to dance. She also loved to play board games with her grandchildren and her weekly Yahtzee games with sister Patti.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Brandall Binion and wife Amber, and their children, Luc, Karah, and Sophie of Garland. Brian Binion and wife Trish of Georgetown, and their children, Amanda Perez and husband Vincent, and their children, Lucas and Jordan Perez, Morgan Brizendine and husband Layne, and their children, Braxton and Kayson Brizendine, Patrick Lange and wife Courtney of Miles, and their children, Wyatt, Tycie and Kyla Lange. She also leaves behind her constant companion and travel buddy, her rescue dog, her much loved Toby. Barbara is also survived by her remaining siblings, Kay Jurecek and husband Dennis of Breckinridge, Patti Harris, Robert Harris and wife Kathleen of San Agelo and a sister in law, Lynn Marie of Virginia. Aunt "Babo" as she was affectionaly called leaves behind many nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Mickey Harris; husbands, Omer Lee Binion "Junior", Pat Scranton "Scrappy"; sisters, Beth Tucker and her husband Larry Tucker, and a sister, Debbie Sellers.

Barbara believed in God and family first, to live and let live, to mind your own business and to always help someone when you can.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday,March 16, 2024, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, 402 Rio Concho Drive, San Angelo, Texas 76903. Cremation and arrangements are under the dirction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
