Cleophas M. Washington

CLEOPHAS MACK WASHINGTON Cleophas Mack Washington was born November 27, 1916 in Beaumont, TX to Elizabeth and John Mack both parents, four brothers and three sisters, one son and her forever loving husband, Mr. James Washington all preceded her in death. On December 5, 1935 Cleophas Mack united in holy matrimony with James Washington and to that union three sons were born, James, Bing and Willie. Cleo accepted Christ at an early age. She and her husband had to move from Ballinger, TX to Kenedy, TX due to his job. Later her father passed away and they returned to Ballinger to care for her mother. They brought along with them her husbands ill parents to care for them all under one roof. Cleo was a very loving and caring person and there was nothing that she wouldn't do to help someone. She became a member at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for more than 40 years. She went to college to become an LVN and she worked there in Ballinger for 58 years as a nurse and she loved her job. She moved to San Angelo in 1990 to live with her granddaughter, whom she raised, Sandra Suiters and her family. She united with St. Paul Baptist Church where she faithfully tithed and attended until her health began to fell her. She loved spending time with her grandkid and great-grandkid. She helped raise Marquis, Detric, Joseph, Jr. and her little David. She taught them to pray and always keep God in everything they do. Cleophas Washington leaves in appreciation of her life two loving sons; James Washington and wife, Pat of California and his five children; Bing Washington and Julie of Connecticut and his three children and Sandra Suiters her granddaughter/daughter and husband, Rev. Joseph Suiters of San Angelo, TX and four sons and a host of grand and great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the St. Paul's Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Suiters and Rev. Fredd Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of St. Paul's Baptist Church.
