Daniel Aguilar Martinez, 89, a humble and honest man of unwavering faith passed away peacefully Sunday, February 18, 2024, in San Angelo, surrounded by his family, after a long life filled with love.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Daniel was born July 22, 1934 to Nicholas and Isabel Martinez in San Angelo. He lived a life guided by his Christian beliefs. He found solace and strength in his faith, which guided him through life's joys and challenges. Daniel was a devoted family man caring for his children and grandchildren. He cherished spending time with his greatest joy, his family, imparting his wisdom and values with love and gentleness. His simple acts of kindness and sincerity touched the hearts of all who knew him. A man of few words but great integrity, Daniel lived by the principles of honesty, compassion, and humility. He believed in treating others with respect and dignity, and his life exemplified these virtues in every interaction.
Daniel was employed by Gandy's Dairy in San Angelo, the San Angelo State Supported Living Center, and self-employed as a carpenter for many years while living in Dallas. He had many cherished friends that he shared wonderful memories with throughout the years.
Daniel is survived by his two daughters, Criselda Martinez of Texas and E. Danielle Martinez (Beverley) of Austin; two sons, Daniel "Bobby" Martinez (Carmen) of Moses Lake, Washington and Jimmy David Martinez of Grand Prairie; one sister, Mary Martinez of Dallas; nine grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father; two cherished sons, Damian Tyrone Martinez, Sr., and David Gutierrez; one great grandson, Donovan J. Sanchez, Jr.; two brothers, Macario Martinez, and Nicholas Martinez, Jr.; and one sister, Esther Pena.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Meals for the Elderly, 310 E. Houston Harte Expy., San Angelo, Texas 76903, a local church, or charity of your choice.
Though Daniel may no longer be with us, his legacy of faith, simplicity, and honesty will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
