Glenna Faye Masters Box was diagnosed with dementia in 2014 and succumbed to the disease passing peacefully in her sleep on May 18, 2023 at the age of 91.
Graveside services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Hobbs Cemetery in Fisher County, Texas with Perry Westmoreland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home of San Angelo.
Mrs. Box was born on August 7, 1931, in Rotan to Alonzo Lewis Masters and Ida Pearl Weems Masters. She was raised on the family farm in Fisher County. She graduated from high school in Roby in 1947 and went on to attend Hardin Simmons University where she graduated in 1948 as a Registered Nurse. Glenna met the love of her life, Lee Oren Box, Jr., a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, and the two married in January 1955. In 1962, Lee's career took the couple to Eldorado where they were blessed with a baby boy, Glen Lee. Lee's career took the family to several locations including Christoval; San Angelo; Barinas, Venezuela; Hobbs, New Mexico; Midland and finally back to San Angelo. After settling in San Angelo, Glenna and Lee purchased a small business in July 1972 called Equipment and Repair where they worked with their young son and others to grow the company. In 1973, the company moved to a larger facility and was renamed E&R Supply. Glenna worked side by side with her husband in the family business until her retirement in 2014. E&R Supply is still in business today in the same location with Lee continuing to run the operation. Glenna became a grandmother in March 2004, to grandson Colby Cash Box.
Mrs. Box was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Ida Pearl Masters; and nephews, Terry and Tommy Lewis.
She is survived by her husband and faithful caregiver, Lee, of San Angelo; son, Glen Lee Box of Austin; grandson, Colby Cash Box of Austin; brother William Masters and wife Irene of Snyder; brother, Charles Masters and wife Mary Ann of Snyder; nieces, Melinda Maninger, Charlotte Wilson, Kristi Masters, several great nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.
