Hallie Mae Cox, 83, of San Angelo, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Gregory P. Smith of Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK., officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Hallie was born May 23, 1921 in Grass Creek, Wyoming to Oscar Homer and Arrena Vallandingham. She enjoyed meeting and working with the public. She worked as Gift Shop Manager for seventeen years at the Fort Concho Museum. She married the love of her life, Edward B. Cox on July 21, 1938 in San Angelo and after fifty-one years of marriage he preceded her in death on August 25, 1989. Hallie's life exemplified the ultimate of generosity and loving kindness toward others. She knew the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and lived a self-less life, marked by a gentle spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. Indeed she was a blessing to those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband E.B. Cox, brother Homer Vallandingham and sister Lena Isbell. Survivors are: Daughter:Marsha Smith and husband, Ronnie Oklahoma City, OK Sons:Gary Cox and wife, Tammy Of Franklin, PA Alan Cox and wife, Pam Of San Angelo Brother:Bruce Vallandingham Of San Angelo Grandchildren:Logan Cox, Larry Dunlap, Travis Cox, Greg Smith and Joel Smith Great-grandchildren:Andrew Smith, Hallie Smith Elaina Smith and Ruthanna Smith Several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Vallandingham, Roy Vallandingham, Travis Rogers, Gary Rogers, Gus Alexander, and Bob Bluthardt. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to Hospice of San Angelo, Nurse Debra Hooten and Meals for the Elderly. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of San Angelo and Meals for the Elderly.
