Helen Godines, 75, of San Angelo, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005 in a local hospital. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Quirino Cornejo officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Helen was born October 16, 1929 in Mason to Santiago and Mercedes Lopez. She married Abelardo "AC" Godines, May 27, 1949 in San Angelo and married fifty-six years. Helen retired from the San Angelo ISD working in food service. After her retirement, she was able to finally devote her full time to her home and family, especially, the light of her life her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Santiago and Mercedes Lopez, brother Antonio Lopez Sr. and a sister Amelia Emma Rodriguez. Lopez Of San Angelo Louis Lopez Of Lubbock Step-sister:Lala Dienda and husband, Henry Of San Angelo Grandchildren:John Godines Jr. and wife, Kimberly Sylvia Calderon and husband, Joe Rebecca Medrano and husband, David All of Abilene Angela Cajas and husband, Ronnie Jr. Robert Andrew Godines Rudy Brandon Perez All of San Angelo Andrianna Godines Of San Antonio Anthony Trent Godines Shea Marie Godines Of Dallas Great-grandchildren:Ronnie Cajas III Serena Cajas Robert Jacob Cajas Of San Angelo Kinley Godines Of Abilene Audrie Godines Of San Angelo Joe Anthony Calderon Of Abilene Pallbearers will be Rudy Perez, Noe Carrasco, Ron Carrasco, Anthony Lopez III, David Ramirez, and Juan Varquera. The family extends a warm and loving thank you to Dr. Chang, Dr. Rose, Dr. Cheruku, Dr. Anderton and especially the nurses and staff in ICU and 5 North and SCCI hospital.
