MARIA "CRUZITA" BRIONES

Maria Briones, age 95, of San Angelo, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2005 at her residence. Rosary service will be held 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Terry Brenon officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Maria was born September 14, 1909 in Melvin to Antonio and Ciria Hidalgo Salazar. She married Jose Briones on June 18, 1927 in Del Rio. She was a homemaker who loved to quilt and crochet. She also enjoyed entertaining her friends at her home over coffee. She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Ciria Hidalgo Salazar, her loving husband Jose Briones and her grandson Reuben Briones. Maria is survived by her daughters: Belia Sevier and her husband, Lassaro Ofelia Benitez Two sons: Jose Briones and his wife, Olga Vicente Briones and his wife, Anita. Sister:Adelina Rodriguez of Stockton, CA Grandchildren: Irene Farrell, Fernando Sevier, Leticia Kurtz, Hilda Munoz, Romelia Quezada, Arturo Munoz, Rodolfo Briones, Ricardo Briones, Alicia Puente, Albert Briones, Gilbert Briones, and Antonia Harding. She also is survived by twenty great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers for the services are Fernando Sevier, Wesley Sevier, Ricardo Briones, Albert Briones, Gilbert Briones, and Glenn Rhoades.
