Maria Cecilia Salamanca

Maria Cecilia "Cec" Salamanca, 85, of San Angelo passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with rosary being said at 6:00 PM led by Deacon Walter Hammons. Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Holy Angels with Very Rev. Santiago Udayar, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Maria Cecilia, as she was affectionately called, was born on May 26, 1938, in the Philippines. Cec lived a happy life with her husband of 53 years, Filomeno A. Salamanca. She moved to the US in 1969 and her husband followed her a year later. They resided in Wisconsin. She worked in Accounting at GTE and retired in San Angelo.  Cec loved to entertain, and was known for her fried rice, chicken adobo, eggrolls and pancit. She took great pleasure in getting her hair and nails done and enjoyed reading and playing Mahjong. Cec also was a member and served as president of the Association of Asian-American Women of San Angelo. She was blessed to have five wonderful grandchildren that she adored.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Sorrera and Fe Golez Sorrera and two brothers, Mariano and Ruperto and two sisters, Angelina and Josephine.

Cec is survived by her husband, Filomeno A. Salamanca, her daughter, Fe Cassandra Hill and husband Ian; her son, Donald Alexander Salamanca; and five grandchildren, Desmond, Jada, Ava, Ryan and Reid.

Pallbearers will be Alex Salamanca, Desmond Salamanca, Ryan Salamanca, Reid Salamanca, Ian Hill, and Dino Wagner.
