Mary Lee "Polly" MacLea, 95, of San Angelo, passed away, Thursday, July 8, 2004 in at her residence. A Memorial service will be conducted at Baptist Memorials Center Chapel, on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at 2:00 PM, with Dr. Kenneth G. Patrick, Chaplain, and Dr. Jean Law officiating. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Polly was born July 19, 1908 to Reginald James and Mary Hayes Darby on the family farm in Montgomery County, Maryland. Polly attended public schools and subsequently was graduated from Western Maryland College in Westminster, Maryland, where she met her husband, T. Raymond MacLea. Homemaker in her early married life, she went into teaching and retired from Strayer Business College in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1972, she and her husband, a wholesale lumber distributor, retired to Virginia's Eastern Shore, where they lived until his death in 1990, when Polly came to Texas to be near her two children. Polly was a gracious lady, a very caring person with a smile and kind word for everyone. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Survivors are: Daughter:Baynes Hobbs and her husband, Arthur of San Angelo Son:James D. MacLea and wife, Janet of Granbury, TX Brother:Reginald James Darby and wife, Loretta of Ocala, FL Grandchildren:Brenda Wellen and husband Don of San Angelo Arthur B. Hobbs and wife, Robin of Midland Andrew B. Hobbs and wife, Gemma of Ft Worth Amanda Sutton and husband Dennis of Lubbock Christine Jones and husband Robert of Ft. Worth James Gregory MacLea and wife, Stacey of McKinney Great-Grandchildren:Sarah and Claire Hobbs; Ashley, Andrew and Austin Hobbs and Zoe DePrang; Darby, Courtney and Arthur Sutton; Natalie, Will, Ethan and Mary Grace Jones; and Jacob, Darby and Brendan MacLea; a niece, Ida Lee Wooten of Charlottesville, Virginia. The family would like to thank Dr. James Bray; Baptist Memorial Home Health and Hospice, and Margaret Zamarron, for their loving and compassionate care of Polly.
