REVEREND CECIL MEADOWS

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2004 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Jerold McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Cecil Meadows, 99, was born in Arkansas on August 10, 1905 to Burt and Pearl Meadows. He departed this life on November 17, 2004. He was ordained to the gospel ministry on February 2, 1928. The next 12 years, Rev. Meadows attended school and served as pastor of several rural churches in Missouri and Arkansas. He was graduated from Hardin Simmons University in 1933 and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Theology degree, in 1939. After graduation, Rev. Meadows served as pastor of Baptist churches in England, Arkansas, and in San Saba, Rochester, Earth, and Grand Prairie, Texas. Rev. Meadows was married to Millicent Adams in 1942 and to Mary Nell Fuller in 1980. Both wives preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Sprinkle and husband Bill of Huntsville, TX and Evelyn McAnelly and husband John of Hondo, TX; three sisters, Hazel Coleman of Missouri, Effie Hawkins of California and Juanita Haughey of Pennsyvania; one brother, Howard Meadows of Arkansas; four grandchildren, David Sprinkle and wife Susan, Mark Sprinkle, Nate Sprinkle and wife Barbi and Lydia Wong and husband Raymond; five great-grandchildren, Brienna, Noah, Kira, Dean Sprinkle and Tobin Wong with numerous nieces and nephews.
