Roger Alan Shawn Roger Alan Shawn passed away suddenly at his home, Wednesday, May 26, 2004. Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, June 4, 2004 at Belvedere Memorial Park, officiating will be Rev. Mike Andress with Hospice of San Angelo. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Roger was born on October 5, 1946 in San Angelo to Ernest M. and Diana Shawn. Roger graduated from Lake View High School in 1965 and was Valedictorian of his graduating class. He attended Angelo State University and graduated in December 1974 with a Bachelors Degree, a Major in History, a Minor in Government and with a Cum-Laude Honor. Roger went to the University of Texas and received his Masters Degree in Education. Roger was teaching while he was studying for his degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Roger taught school in the Austin School system and finally at Round Rock. He accomplished what he wanted to do in life. He dedicated much of his life to his own education and the teachings of others, putting aside personal gain and selfish interests. As a young boy, Roger was a very quiet person but was well behaved and disciplined. He was preceded in death by his sister Lorna Shawn Lawson and his father Ernest M. Shawn. He is survived by his mother Diana Shawn and brother David Shawn both of San Angelo and nephew Jeffery Flippin, grand-nephew Jeremy Flippin and grand-niece Haley Flippin.
