WILLIE "RILEY" SIMMONS

Willie Raleigh (Riley) Simmons, 66, of San Angelo, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Mike Dorman officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. The family will gather at 109 Tyler Terrace, Andy's Simmon's home, after the funeral service. Willie was born April 27, 1939 in Menard to Andrew Jackson and Ruby Estes Simmons. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Willie looked forward to his annual trips to the Pecos River with his sons. He was also a NASCAR fan. Willie loved to spend time with "all his rowdy friends". His kids were the driving force in his life. He had a loving, caring companion in Carol Northington. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Freida Simmons; a son Sid Martin; sisters Alice Simmons, Ida Herode, Leona Tubbs and a brother Wade Simmons. Survivors are: Four sons:Bill Martin of Ft. Worth Steve Simmons of Ozona Andy Simmons of San Angelo James Simmons of Lufkin, TX Three daughters:Kathy Smiles of Pampa, TX Cindy Harris Tammy Kennedy Both of Mesquite, TX Loving Companion: Carol Northington and her sons, James Northington, Wayne Northington and Samuel Northington. Three brothers:James Simmons, Raymond Simmons and Dennis Simmons Three sisters:Gene Kennedy, Hazel Harkey, Lois McKinney 29 Grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bill Martin, Steve Simmons, Andy Simmons, Steve Kennedy, Justin Kennedy, Jarrod Simmons.
