Casey Dane Wood

Casey Dane Wood, 33, was born April 17, 1987, to Robert Dane and Nancy Ann Wood in Cheyenne Wyoming, Casey passed on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, while following his passion for life of riding his motorcycle.

Casey was raised in Cheyenne. He met Briana and her daughter Chasity in 2007. They married in 2008 and added three more daughters, Kayel, and twins Rachel and Mikailah. Casey, Briana, and the girls moved to San Angelo, in 2013 realizing it does take a village to raise kids. Casey worked for All American Chevrolet then Angelo Water Service-Culligan until his death. Casey was a member of Paul Ann Church. Casey's mantra was: "If one day speed kills me, don't cry. I was smiling!!!"

Casey had a passion for his motorcycles, but it was more than a passion. It was a part of who he was. If he was not working on a bike, chasing the elusive mechanical ghosts, then he was playing video games involving racing of some sort.

Casey raised his own motorcycle riding buddies and assistant mechanics with his daughters Chasity and Kayel and yes there were many scrapes as well as a few broken bones. But most important it was all about having fun with the kids. Casey and the girls always had a rivalry going.

Casey had an infectious laugh that you could not help but join in. Family gatherings always consisted of much laughter and usually motorcycles rides for all the nieces and nephews. Most family gatherings were started only after the basics were covered such as EMS or Life Flight on standby. There was a checklist of family and their occupations which would cover most areas of any possible accidents, of which did happen on multiple occasions. There were little to no boundaries for Casey when it came to having fun and doing the things that he was passionate about. Casey had an immense love for his family and would always have an ear, a shoulder, and a great big bear hug for anyone that needed one. Casey was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need and did not know the meaning of the word no when it came to someone in need of a hand.

Casey was a big kid at heart and usually sat at the kids table during family events. Casey was a pro at creating whirlpools in the pool for the kids, diving for pool toys while getting the brothers in law involved while Mom, aunts and grandmoms sat by planning the rescue mission and which emergency personnel to contact first.

Getting together with father-in-law Doug, brothers in law Ryan, Jake, and Jose for the redneck brotherhood was always an event best watched from a distance due to the possible involvement of fire. The family was always concerned that the gathering of the guys would tilt the world off its axis. Casey definitely tilted the world of anyone he loved and who knew him well.

Casey had a great love for the outdoors. Being raised in Wyoming, the crazy weather in Texas never seemed to faze him. The entire family would be bundled up and Casey would arrive in cargo shorts and a T shirt and call us crazy. Casey enjoyed going to the makeshift shooting range and having family shooting contests. Casey and his various interests drew a lot of people to him.

Casey is survived by his former wife Briana, his four daughters, Chasity, Kayel, Rachel and Mikailah; his parents, Robert, and Nancy Wood of Wyoming; parents-in-law, Doug and Ilene Cooper of San Angelo and Johnita Race of Abilene; sisters-in-law Jennifer and husband Ryan, Shannon and husband Jake, and Lindsay and husband Jose; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Memorial services were Sunday, March 7, 2021. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
