Public viewing for Celia and Catarino will be from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mertzon with Father Anthony Franco, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Mertzon Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rico was born November 7, 1935 in Las Cuevas, Mexico to Santiago and Josefa Ortiz. Mr. Rico was born February 27, 1935 in Acuna, Mexico to Eusebio and Juanita Rico. Celia and Catarino have been residents of Mertzon since 1963. Celia was a homemaker and Catarino was a ranch hand since the age of 14, they were members of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Celia loved to crochet, cooking and taking care of her family. They loved being with there family especially their grandchildren.

Celia's survivors include her husband Catarino Rico, Sr. of the home; two daughters, Rosalinda Ramirez and husband Tudy of Big Lake, and Araceli Gonzalez and husband Jesus of Mertzon; two sons, Catarino Rico, Jr. and wife Wilma, and Lorenzo Rico and wife Elena all of Mertzon; 3 sisters, Oralia Rico of Mexico, Santa Garcia of Del Rio, and Maria Martinez of San Angelo; nine grandchildren, Krystal, Erika, Rosi, Jesus, Noemi, Claudia, Hugo, Erick and Laramy; and 12 great grandchildren.

Catarino's survivors include his two daughters, Rosalinda Ramirez and husband Tudy of Big Lake, and Araceli Gonzalez and husband Jesus of Mertzon; two sons, Catarino Rico, Jr. and wife Wilma, and Lorenzo Rico and wife Elena all of Mertzon; his siblings, Oralia Fuentez, Dionicio Rico and Eusebia Rico de Arellano; nine grandchildren, Krystal, Erika, Rosi, Jesus, Noemi, Claudia, Hugo, Erick and Laramy; and 12 great grandchildren.

They were preceded in death by their parents; a great grandson, Joshua; and several brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank Dr. Vincente Lam Sui, Dr. John Stevenson and all the nursing staff from Shannon 4 North for their loving care for Celia, and to Dr. Vicente Lam Sui and Dr. Hunt and all the staff of Cedar Manor Nursing Home for loving care for their loving care of Catarino.

Pallbearers will be Hugo Venzor, Erick Venzor, Jessie Gonzalez, Joseph Haynes, Ray Montez and Dustin Barton. Honorary pallbearers will be John Agular, John Acosta and Javier Ibarra.
