Francisco "Pancho" Martinez Gomez

Francisco "Pancho" Gomez, 66, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, in his home on Powell Ranch.

Funeral Services will be in Acuná, Mexico at a later date.

Pancho was born on July 1, 1957 in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico to Enrique Martinez and Josefa Gomez. Pancho married Francisca Hernandez Contreras de Gomez in 1984, to which that union they have 10 children. Pancho came to work in the United States in 1988. He was a good, genuine person who had a big heart, and was definitely a jokester. Pancho loved playing his guitar and singing. He was such a hard worker that always took care of his family and for the past 5 years he worked for Powell Ranch.

Survivors include his wife, Francisca; his 10 children, Francisco, Jr., Enrique, Yolanda, Oralia, Josefa, Enriqueta, Guadalupe, Michelle, Kayla, and Genoveva; two brothers, Federico Martinez of Abilene, and Enrique Martinez of Sweetwater; and his nieces and nephews to whom he was a loving uncle. Pancho was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Leobardo, Manuel, Felipe, and Gustavo; and a sister, Andrea.

The family would like to thank the Powell Ranch and all the family and staff for everything they did for Pancho.
