Frederick (Rick) Ervin, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away on July 10, 2018 in San Angelo, Texas
Rick was born in Chicago Heights, IL. to Shirley (Lien) Ervin & Lawrence Ervin on November 23, 1951. He went to school at Bloom High School. He married Odilia (Gonzalez) Ervin on April 7, 1972 in San Antonio. He served in the US Army for over 20 years, retired as a Staff Sergeant and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Rick had a love for baseball and railroads which he shared with his lifelong childhood friend, Bob Bruns.
Rick worked at Fahralloy Company in Harvey, IL for 8 years as a grinder. He worked for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad along with his father. After retiring, he worked at HEB in Del Rio.
Rick is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Ervin.
Rick is survived by his wife, Odilia Ervin, sons; Lawrence Ervin and Ryan Ervin and wife, Evelyn; mother, Shirley Ervin, brothers; James Ervin and wife, Mary, Thomas Ervin and wife, Delynn, Donald Ervin and wife, Jeni, granddaughters are Cypress Ervin and Izabel Ervin, numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home.
