Jerry Saldana

Jerry "Fat Boy" Saldana, 44, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Family visitation will be from 5;30 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday December 15, 2022 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2022 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Jehu Hernandez, of Solid Rock Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Saldana was born on March 20, 1978 in Dallas to Joe and Linda Ramirez Saldana. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1997. Jerry worked at Lone Star Beef Processing for 10 years before going to work at Valley Protein in Veribest. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, barbequing, and spending time with friends and family. Jerry was a jokester, he loved to make you laugh and make fun of you at the same time. He was the life of the party. Most importantly Jerry had a kind heart. He was a doer and a giver. He gave until his last days. He never gave up his faith much less his love for God.

Jerry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Maria and Claudio Ramirez; paternal grandmother, Janie Torres; paternal grandfather, Eugene Saldana; and a nephew Daymian Ray Saldana.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Linda Saldana of San Angelo; six siblings, Michelle Ybarra and husband Carlos; Joe Saldana, Jr. and wife Rita, Connie Saldana, Elizabeth Chappa and wife Angela, Roseann Watford and husband Prince, and Janie Saldana and partner Fernando all of San Angelo; his little girls, Ebvany and Mia Sandoval; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Joe Saldana, Jr., Abel Ramirez, David Acosta, Prince Watford, Jo Angel Garcia, Carlos Garcia, and Sammy Galvan and honorary pallbearers are Carlos Ybarra, Isiah Ford, Brandon Chapoy, and Luis Sercos.

We'd like to give a sincere thank you to Jerry's Dialysis team, wound care team, all the doctors and nurses on 6 North at Shannon Medical Center and Robert Massie Funeral Home for caring for Jerry.

Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
