Obituary

Jose L. Armendariz, 87, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Tuesday with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ismael Velazco Ornelas, officiating. Burial will follow at Mertzon Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home

Mr. Armendariz was born September 5, 1934 in Rankin to Jesus and Esther Armendariz. Jose married Gloria Herrera on February 3, 1986 in Mertzon. He has been a resident of San Angelo since 1985. Jose was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He worked for Harrison Roofing and later for Kent Elliott Roofing. Jose enjoyed being with family and friends. He loved taking care of his land and animals.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria; five sons, Salvador Fuentes, Joe Ricardo Armendariz, Roberto Armendariz and wife Rosana Maria, Joseph Ray Armendariz, and wife Maria delos Angeles, and Jose Angel Armendariz and wife Araceli; five daughters, Ester Sedeño and husband Frank "Pepo", Nellie Ostrander and husband Paul, Angie Armendariz, Sue Ellen Brown and husband Greg, and Josefina Fuller and husband Corey; a brother, Gregory L. Charles; 29 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. Jose was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wilfredo L. "Willie" Armendariz.
