Obituary
Josie Ortegon, 73, of San Angelo passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
Viewing will be from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with a rosary being said at 6:00 PM. Liturgy of the word will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 22, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Deacon Abel Fernandez, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Ms. Ortegon was born on October 31, 1949 in San Angelo. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School and later from Lincoln University in Nebraska. Josie worked for the department of corrections and was a secretary for attorneys in Tom Green County. She was a wonderful caretaker of her mother for many years. Josie was energetic, tough, and very independent.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Elma De La Cruz.
She is survived by her three brothers, Ernest Perez and wife Mary, Harry Perez and wife Berta, and Manuel Ortegon and wife Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Perez, Mathew Perez, Michael Reyes, Pete Guebara, Richard Martinez, and Jared Belcher.
