Maria M Martinez

Maria Luisa Martinez, 82, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord, July 30, 2023, in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family.

Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Liturgy of the word will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Whispering Waterfull at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martinez was born March 25, 1941 to Pascual and Elena Martinez in Midland, Texas. Maria was raised in Midland and attended Midland High School. Maria has been a resident of San Angelo since 1960. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Maria worked for San Angelo Health Department and the San Angelo State Supported Living Center. Maria was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved sewing, cooking, baking cakes, doing crafts, and spending time with family.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Martinez Arocha of San Angelo and Ramon Albert Arocha of Dallas; a daughter, Edna Martinez Ybarra and husband Robert of San Angelo; two brothers, Eddie Mejia of Midland, and Gilbert Mejia and wife Estella of Alabama; a sister, Manuela Lopez of Midland; seven grandchildren, Monica, Bobby, Jr., Julian, Elena, Robert, Priscilla, and Angelica; and seven great grandchildren.

The family would like to express the thanks to the staff of Park Plaza Nursing Center and of Gentiva Hospice of San Angelo for there loving care and support.
