Mary Virginia Sproul Sessums May 7, 1934 - August 30, 2021


On August 30, 2021, we lost our mother, Mary Virginia Sproul Sessums, 87, of Thornton, Colorado from natural causes.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Fairmount Cemetery.

Mary Sproul graduated from Eldorado High School in Eldorado, Texas and attended San Angelo Junior College. She married Robert Sessums of San Angelo, Texas and went on to raise three children on their family farm in Monte Vista, Colorado. Mary was a dedicated mother, raising three equally tenacious and dedicated children. Mary was our biggest cheerleader and our constant supporter. Our family would not be where it is today if we didn't have Mary as a mother. Though Mary Sproul Sessums was a private person, she was an important part of our family, and her loss will be deeply felt.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ray Sproul, and her brother and sister, Robert Sproul and Jean Hunnicutt. She is survived by her brother and sister, Carroll Sproul and Bette Allen, and her three children, Steve (Gloria) and Hunter (Carol) Sessums and Leslie (Eric) Packer.
