Oscar P. Luna

Oscar P. Luna, Sr.,66, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021, in San Angelo surrounded by family.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 4, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Lorenzo Hatch, rector of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Luna was born October 17, 1955 in San Angelo where he has been a lifelong resident. Oscar married Rosario Elizondo on September 20, 1976 in San Angelo. Oscar was employed by Ethicon for 30 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Oscar loved to fish, play pool, and cheer for the Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Padilla and husband Eli, Jessica Chappa and husband Chris, Catherine Sanchez and husband Miguel; a son, Jesse Luna; mother of his children, Rosario Luna, two sisters, Gracie Aguirre and husband Ernest, Susan Banda and husband Frank; grandchildren; Dr. John Chappa and fiancé Victoria Rodriguez, Ursula Talamantes and husband Jose, Isaiah Padilla, Alex Sanchez, Andrew Sanchez and Cara Chappa.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Catarino and Maria Luna; a son, Oscar Luna Jr; a grandson, Jason Chappa; brothers; Enrique Luna and Catarino Luna Jr. Half-sisters; Margaret M. Ornelas, Santos M. Rodriguez; half-brothers; Joe P. Martinez and Gilbert P. Martinez.
